In addition to acting as bond and disclosure counsel, Opel represents national and regional investment banking firms as underwriter’s counsel and letter of credit bank counsel in public finance transactions.
For 13 consecutive years, Opel has been selected in Woodward White Inc.’s Best Lawyers list, and was also chosen as its Austin’s Public Finance Law Lawyer of the Year for 2018, an honor he also received in 2013. He previously served as the commissioner for the City of Austin’s Water and Wastewater Commission.
