U.S. Government Ran $112.8 Billion Deficit in July

The federal government ran a $112.8 billion deficit in July, the Treasury Department reported Wednesday.

The July surplus followed a $6.3 billion budget surplus in June.

Outlays in July totaled $322.813 billion. Receipts totaled $209.998 billion.

In July 2015, the government ran a $149.2 billion deficit.

For the fiscal year to date, the government has a $513.7 billion deficit, compared to a $465.5 billion deficit for the similar period on fiscal 2015.
