NEW YORK - The Treasury Department said Monday it will sell $40 billion of four-week discount bills Tuesday.
There are currently $84.005 billion of four-week bills outstanding.
The bills settle March 10 and are due April 7.
Federal Reserve banks hold $5.938 billion in maturing bills in their own accounts.
MBIA says it isn't responsible for what its subsidiaries did.
The risk of contagion to the rest of the high-yield market is limited, investors said.
