Newly issued Treasury securities held in stripped form increased about $2.385 billion in March to a total of $212.505 billion, the Bureau of the Public Debt reported Thursday.
Through the Separate Trading of Registered Interest and Principal of Securities program, STRIPS, about $19.687 billion of Treasury securities were reconstituted in March, up about $382 million from $19.305 billion in February.
Securities eligible for stripping totaled $10.947 trillion in March up about $133 billion from $10.814 trillion in February.
Some $10.735 trillion were held in unstripped form.
The STRIPS program allows investors to hold and trade the individual interest and principal components of eligible Treasury notes and bonds as separate securities.
