The Treasury Department Thursday auctioned $16 billion of 30-year bonds with a 3 3/8% coupon at a 3.440% high yield, a price of 98.789628.
The bid-to-cover ratio was 2.09.
Tenders at the high yield were allotted 58.90%.
The median yield was 3.366%. The low yield was 3.300%.
Tenders totaled $33,364,062,800 and the Treasury accepted $16,000,008,800 including $22,462,800 non-competitive.
The Fed banks also bought nothing for their own account in exchange for maturing securities.
The bonds dated May 15, will mature May 15, 2044.
