The Treasury Department Thursday auctioned $16 billion of 30-year bonds with a 3 1/8% coupon at a 3.224% high yield, a price of 98.105640.
The bid-to-cover ratio was 2.60.
Tenders at the high yield were allotted 91.15%.
The median yield was 3.309%. The low yield was 3.130%.
Tenders totaled $41,636,148,400 and the Treasury accepted $16,000,001,400 including $24,248,400 non-competitive.
The Fed banks also bought nothing for their own account in exchange for maturing securities.
The bonds dated Aug. 15, will mature Aug. 15, 2044.
