The Treasury Department Thursday auctioned $13 billion of 29-year 10-month bonds with a 2 1/2% coupon at a 2.597% high yield, a price of 97.990952.
The bid-to-cover ratio was 2.18.
Tenders at the high yield were allotted 40.72%.
The median yield was 2.529%. The low yield was 2.450%.
Tenders totaled $28,337,932,600 and the Treasury accepted $13,000,012,600 including $8,225,600 non-competitive.
The Fed banks also bought nothing for their own account in exchange for maturing securities.
The bonds dated Feb. 15, will mature Feb. 15, 2045.
