The Treasury Department Thursday auctioned $16 billion of 30-year bonds with a 2 1/2% coupon at a 2.560% high yield, a price of 98.748902.
The bid-to-cover ratio was 2.26.
Tenders at the high yield were allotted 3.44%.
The median yield was 2.506%. The low yield was 2.410%.
Tenders totaled $36,131,063,800 and the Treasury accepted $16,000,001,800 including $20,168,800 non-competitive.
The Fed banks also bought $603,700 for their own account in exchange for maturing securities.
The bonds dated Feb. 15, will mature Feb. 15, 2045.
