SoCal affinity groups will host second annual mixer in Los Angeles

A collection of muni market affinity groups are hosting their second annual summer mixer in August on the rooftop of Nixon Peabody's downtown Los Angeles office.

The event will be held Aug. 10 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Last summer's inaugural event drew just north of 100 people, and they are hoping for a similar outcome this year, said Alexander Vaisman, co-founder of Muni Pride and a managing vice president at Build America Mutual.

"It's been great to collaborate with one another because we all share the same vision – to create an event that is diverse, inclusive and where everyone feels welcomed," said Alexander Vaisman, a managing vice president at Build America Mutual.

The event is coordinated by five affinity groups: African Americans in Public Finance, Asian Americans in Public Finance, Latinos in Public Finance, Muni Pride and Women in Public Finance.

"It's been great to collaborate with one another because we all share the same vision – to create an event that is diverse, inclusive and where everyone feels welcomed," Vaisman said.

Nixon Peabody graciously volunteered to host the event once again at their wonderful rooftop terrace, Vaisman said.

"Not only are we tremendously appreciative but it's hard to beat the view," Vaisman said.
