CHICAGO -- South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard March 26 signed into law a bill authorizing the state's board of regents to issue bonds to finance a $65 million football stadium at South Dakota State University.
Senate Bill 15 allows the South Dakota Building Authority to float up to $39 million of revenue bonds for the Jackrabbits' stadium.
Private donations and cash from the university's fees and bookstore revenues will pay for the rest of the project, according to local reports.
The governor also signed into law two bills authorizing the regents board to finance capital projects at other schools that total roughly $3 million.
