Solich Tapped to Head Alternative Energy Authority

California Treasurer Bill Lockyer Wednesday announced the appointment of Christine Solich as executive director of the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority.

“With more than 20 years of experience in finance, Christine is a perfect choice to lead CAEATFA as it provides the financing tools to help build California’s green sector,” Lockyer said in a statement.

Solich replaces Jan McFarlane, who was hired in 2008 to revive the long-dormant authority, which facilitates financing for facilities that use new and alternative energy sources and technologies, and transportation technologies that conserve energy and reduce air pollution.

The CAEATFA board is scheduled to approve Solich’s appointment at its July 28 meeting. She currently serves as assistant director of investments for the treasurer’s office.
