Small business optimism declined in March, as the Small Business Optimism Index slid to 95.2 from 98.0 in February, as some economic indicators also suggested weakness in the economy, according to the National Federation of Independent Business.

"Bad weather was certainly depressing, for both shoppers and the construction industry," according to the report. "In the meantime, Washington politics remains focused on issues that have little bearing on the current economy, except for the growth crushing pollution agreement the president wants to impose on the economy at the U.N. This is not encouraging to small business owners."
All 10 index components dropped in the month.
