S.F. RDA Picks New Boss

San Francisco’s Redevelopment Commission has appointed Tiffany Bohee as interim director of San Francisco Redevelopment Agency, replacing outgoing director Fred Blackwell.

Bohee has experience overseeing major projects with both the RDA and its office of economic workforce development, according to a statement by Mayor Ed Lee.

She has led the development of Bayview Hunters Point Shipyard and Candlestick Point.

The selection of an interim director comes at a difficult time for redevelopment agencies, which are facing either extinction or hefty payments to the state under a new California law.

Redevelopment agencies have filed a lawsuit to block the legislation, which is expected to be ruled on by the state Supreme Court before Jan. 15.

Until the ruling, redevelopment agencies are effectively shuttered.
