Rossell- Appoints Sobrino Vega as Chief Economic Advisor

Puerto Rico Governor-elect Ricardo Rossell- appointed Christian Sobrino Vega as his chief economic advisor.

Sobrino Vega majored in literature in college and holds a Juris Doctor degree in law.

He joined the corporate law section of the law firm Pietrantoni Méndez & Álvarez in 2013. There he worked on financing and corporate restructurings, government financing, corporate and real estate acquisitions, and regulatory consulting for banks and industry.

In 2015 he joined the pharmaceutical company AbbVie as head of compliance.

Sobrino Vega was part of the team that put together the economic development part of Rossell-'s Plan for Puerto Rico, which the governor-elect created to guide his work as governor.

Earlier this month, Rossell- appointed Manuel Laboy Rivera to oversee the Puerto Rico Department of Economic Development and Commerce. The head of this department, who has the title of secretary, generally oversees the recruitment of firms to locate in Puerto Rico and encourages them to remain there.

Alberto Bac- Bagué is currently the department secretary and president of the Government Development Bank for Puerto Rico.
