Retired Investment Banker Hamlin to Lead Port of Oakland

PHOENIX - Retired investment banker Earl Hamlin has been elected president of the Port of Oakland Board of Port Commissioners.

The board unanimously selected Hamlin late last week to lead the port, which is one of the busiest in the world. He previously worked at the banking firm of Hambrecht & Quist. Board members receive no pay for their services.

Hamlin was the Board's 2nd vice President for the past year. He previously served on the Alameda County Planning Commission, the Alameda County Economic Development Advisory Board and was treasurer of the Chabot Space & Science Center.
