Ramirez & Co. is expanding its public finance group in Texas with the addition of Dennis Covington, who previously served as a chief financial officer for school districts in Texas and other states.
"Our Texas presence and our commitment to the public finance industry has never been stronger, and we are looking forward to having a Texas (independent school district) specialist join our team," Sam Ramirez, founder and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
Covington joins the firm as a managing director based in Austin. He had been CFO and chief operating officer at Texas' Round Rock ISD since 2021 and held prior CFO positions with Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools and Union County Public Schools in North Carolina.
"We are very excited about Dennis joining us as our team continues to provide a high level of technical expertise resulting in excellent underwriting service across the State of Texas, allowing us to continue building on our momentum," Robin Redford, who heads Ramirez's Texas Group, said in the statement.
Covington joins the group's seven public finance bankers. The firm has offices in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio in addition to Austin.
