Puerto Rico's Rossell- Names Economic Development Bank Leader

Puerto Rico Governor-Elect Ricardo Rossell- named Luis Burdiel Agudo as the new president of the Economic Development Bank for Puerto Rico.

Burdiel Agudo has a background in both the private and public sectors. In the former, he worked for First Bank as vice president of credit cards, marketing and branches. He also had two positions at Wells Fargo Financial. He worked for Banco Santander, doing analysis of its operations in Puerto Rico.

He worked for Puerto Rico's Small Business Administration and, from 2009 to 2012, at the Housing Finance Authority.

Burdiel Agudo has a MBA from Boston University and a second master's degree in international relations from the same university.

The ECB provides loans to Puerto Rican businesses.
