Public Finance Lawyer Weyl Joins Butler Snow

Butler Snow has hired Stephen E. Weyl to practice law in its public finance, tax incentives, and credit markets groups in Boston.

Weyl is a municipal finance veteran who has had nationwide experience representing borrowers, investment bankers, credit facility providers, bond purchasers and corporate trustees. He has also served as bond counsel in tax-exempt financing transactions.

In his new role, he will be assisting clients in all aspects of public finance, including federal and state tax issues, securities matters, and derivative transactions.

Weyl's clients include colleges and universities, independent schools, hospitals, health systems, nursing and senior living facilities, student loan programs, social service agencies, and cultural institutions.

He is a member of the American, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island Bar Associations. He is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, currently serving as vice chair of the General Law and Practice Committee. He also belongs to the American Health Lawyers Association and the National Business Officers Association.

Weyl received his undergraduate degree from Amherst College and his Juris Doctor from Boston University.
