CHICAGO -- Illinois-based health care advisory firm Kaufman Hall has been acquired by private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners.
Kaufman Hall is a prominent player in the non-profit health care space, advising providers on mergers and buyouts, among other issues. Chicago-based Madison Dearborn specializes in leveraged buyouts and invests in companies across a variety of industries.
The Federal Trade Commission already granted the deal an early termination notice on Dec. 9.
Madison Dearborn's investment will allow Kaufman Hall to expand its services, the firm said.
"Over the past several years, Kaufman Hall has experienced tremendous growth, including the acquisition of the software firm Axiom EPM," a spokesman for the firm said in an email. "This partnership will allow Kaufman Hall to further expand its consulting and software services to existing and new clients." The firms are not disclosing the terms of the deal.
Kaufman Hall's senior management will remain in place, the firm said.
