The University of Michigan's preliminary June consumer sentiment index reading was 94.3, compared to the final May 94.7, according to market sources.
The expectations index was 83.2, compared to the final May 84.9.
The current conditions index was 111.7, compared to the final May 109.9.
Economists polled by Thomson Reuters had predicted a 94.0 reading for the main index, 83.8 for expectations and 108.8 for current conditions.
The five-year inflation expectation index was 2.3%, compared to 2.5% in May, while the one-year inflation expectation index was 2.4%, compared to 2.4% in May.
The University of Michigan index is not released to the press, but only to paying subscribers.
