Pending home sales increased to a reading of 88.2 in April from a downwardly revised 83.0 in March, according to an index released yesterday by the National Association of Realtors.
IFR Markets’ poll of economists had predicted an 82.6 reading.
Regionally, pending sales grew to 88.8 in the South, 98.8 in the West, and 83.7 in the Midwest, while the Northeast saw pending sales drop to 79.3.
