TheMuniCenter, a New York-based online business-to-business platform for fixed-incomesecurities, on Jan. 8 announced the hiring of Paul Palmeri as chief operating officer.
"I am pleased to be part of TheMuniCenter," Palmeri said in a statement. "The firm hasexperienced extraordinary growth over a very short time frame and has clearlyestablished itself as a leader in the industry."
Previously, Palmeri had for one year owned and managed a consulting business, InnovativeSolutions, where he advised brokerage firms on financial technology. For 15 years priorto that, he worked for Merrill Lynch & Co., most recently as managing director and headof municipal trading and underwriting.
"Paul has the rare combination of market and technology expertise that will helpTheMuniCenter develop efficient solutions for its clients' needs," the firm's executiveofficer, Tom Vales, said in a prepared statement. "Paul's background gives him a uniqueperspective into our business, and we look forward to leveraging his experience as ourbusiness continues to grow."
