The 2016 Summer Olympic and Paralympics could generate as much as $22.5 billion for Illinois’ economy, a study conducted for Chicago’s bid committee found.

The study by California-based Tootelian & Associates was released last week. It projected the city would receive $13.7 billion in benefits from incremental economic activity between 2011 and 2021, and that more than 300,000 jobs would be created.
