Oil Pumps Up the Volume

North Dakota said last week it has reached a new record high in daily oil production. Production reached 423,550 barrels a day, according to the Department of Mineral Resources.

That’s up more than 40,000 barrels a day from June, and could put the state on pace to surpass California as the third biggest oil-producing state in the country, according to local reports. Texas leads the nation, followed by Alaska.

North Dakota is enjoying the biggest oil boom in its history thanks to the Bakken oil field, the largest field in the U.S.
