Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said it raised its long-term rating to AA from AA-minus on Montague County, Texas' existing certificates of obligation.

The outlook is stable.
"The raised rating reflects our view of the county's continued maintenance of historically very strong reserve levels, which have provided financial stability despite a moderately concentrated property tax base," said Standard & Poor's credit analyst Kate Choban.
Montague County's unemployment rate in 2013 was 4.4%, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Nine of the 10 leading taxpayers are oil- and gas-related entities.
