NEW YORK – The seasonally adjusted Milwaukee Index climbed to 66 in March from 63 in February, according to the Institute for Supply Management-Milwaukee.
New orders received fell to 68 from 73, production rose to 69 from 65, backlog slumped to 50 from 64, and supplier lead times slipped to 26 from 28.
Blue collar employment gained to 65 from 59, while white collar employment rose to 61 from 59. Inventory levels slid to 57 from 58, while capital equipment purchases dipped to 64 from 65.
The prices paid index fell to 71 from 73.
