The seasonally adjusted Milwaukee Report on Business gained to 59.81 in December from 51.23 in December, the Institute for Supply Management-Milwaukee reported Tuesday.
New orders received rose to 65.50 from 59.36, production grew to 62.50 from 62.00, employment increased to 58.60 from 43.45, supplier deliveries gained to 62.50 from 56.52, and backlog of orders climbed to 59.62 from 53.33.
Inventory levels soared to 50.00 from 36.84, customers' inventories rose to 37.50 from 33.33, prices rose to 73.00 from 66.67, exports grew to 52.50 from 50.00, and imports increased to 62.50 from 46.15.
The blue collar diffusion index grew to 55.4 from 51.6, while the white collar diffusion index increased to 55.3 from 46.2.
