Milwaukee ISM index grows to 63.61 in October

The seasonally adjusted Milwaukee Report on Business increased to 63.61 in October from 60.24 in September, the Institute for Supply Management-Milwaukee reported Tuesday.

New orders received rose to 63.27 from 54.30, production grew to 66.82 from 60.52, employment decreased to 55.12 from 63.67, supplier deliveries increased to 80.67 from 78.60, and backlog of orders soared to 57.50 from 40.00.

Inventory levels rose to 52.17 from 44.12, customers’ inventories crept to 28.95 from 28.57, prices fell to 71.74 from 82.35, exports rose to 60.71 from 58.33, and imports climbed to 67.86 from 66.67.

The blue collar diffusion index declined to 57.3 from 61.2, while the white collar diffusion index fell to 50.7 from 50.7.
