Milwaukee ISM Index Falls to 62 in May From 68 in April

NEW YORK – The seasonally adjusted Milwaukee Index slipped to 62 in May from 68 in April, according to the Institute for Supply Management-Milwaukee.

New orders received fell to 67 from 80, production slid to 73 from 81, backlog slumped to 55 from 68, and supplier lead times climbed to 29 from 27.

Blue collar employment gained to 71 from 69, while white collar employment rose to 71 from 66. Inventory levels slid to 58 from 64, while capital equipment purchases dipped to 64 from 69.
