Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said it has raised its rating on Miami-Dade County, Fla.'s solid waste system revenue bonds to AA-minus from A-plus.

At the same time, Standard & Poor's has assigned its AA-minus rating to the county's series 2015 solid waste system revenue refunding bonds. The series 2015 bond proceeds will refund the previously issued bonds.
"The upgrade reflects the recent and projected strong coverage and liquidity levels, coupled with the extension of disposal contracts with contracting municipalities," said Standard & Poor's credit analyst James Breeding.
