Massachusetts Treasurer Names Perez, Kim Deputies

Massachusetts Treasurer Deborah Goldberg on Wednesday named Sue Perez and Sarah Kim deputy treasurers.

Perez, whom Goldberg elevated from assistant treasurer, will continue as executive director of the Massachusetts Clean Water Trust and overseer of the commonwealth's debt department.

Perez has more than 25 years of experience in accounting, audit, and financial management and is a graduate of the Boston University School of Management.

She has been the senior finance director for a $3.4 billion service company and, at the other end of the spectrum, was one of the initial members of a start-up company with the responsibility of establishing the finance and human resources departments.

Perez was an auditor at Pricewaterhouse Coopers.

Sarah Kim has been general counsel to Goldberg's office since the start of her administration in January 2015.

Previously, Kim was an assistant attorney general in the fraud and financial crimes division under Attorney General Martha Coakley. Previously, she was an attorney in the litigation practice group of Bingham McCutchen LLP, now Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP).

Kim is a graduate of Villanova University School of Law and Dartmouth College.
