Kenneth W. Marzion, a long-time executive at the California Public Employees’ Retirement System, will become its interim chief executive officer.
CalPERS, the nation’s largest employee pension program, announced Marzion’s appointment Monday. The current chief executive, Fred Buenrostro, has announced his retirement effective at the close of the fiscal year on June 30.
Marzion has been with the system for 32 years, most recently as assistant executive officer of the actuarial and employer services branch.
