June Retail Sales Up 0.6%; Ex-Autos Increase 0.3%

U.S. June retail sales posted a 0.6% increase to $342.138 billion on a seasonally adjusted basis, while excluding automobiles, retail sales rose 0.3% to $285.101 billion, the Commerce Department reported yesterday.

In May, retail sales rose an unrevised 0.5% to $339.932 billion, while excluding autos, sales climbed a downwardly revised 0.4% to $284.195 billion in the month. May ex-auto sales were originally reported up 0.5%.

IFR Markets had predicted sales would advance 0.4% and post an identical gain excluding autos.
