BRADENTON, Fla. - Seyfarth Shaw LLP has added attorney John W. Mills III as a partner in the firm's litigation department in Atlanta.
Mills has experience in restructuring, bankruptcy, debtor and creditor rights, bankruptcy acquisitions, and insolvency related litigation, including receivership and foreclosures, according to Seyfarth.
He also has counseled clients in commercial litigation including matters relating to real estate lending and structured financings.
"John's bankruptcy practice is a seamless complement to our large real estate and public finance platforms in both Atlanta and Los Angeles," said Steve Kennedy, managing partner of Seyfarth's Atlanta office. "He is a valuable addition to the firm, joining with an innate collegiality and a keen understanding of the business environment."
Most recently, Mills worked at Barnes & Thornburg LLP where he was a partner in the finance, insolvency, and restructuring department as well as the lending and structured finance group in Atlanta and Los Angeles.
Mills, a frequent author and speaker on bankruptcy, is on the board of directors and immediate past chair of the bankruptcy section of the Atlanta Bar Association.
He is also a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the commercial law section of the State Bar of California.
