About 4,479,800 online job postings appeared on leading internet job boards in August, a decrease of 125,900 from July, the Conference Board reported Wednesday.
In the U.S. there were 1.17 ads per 100 people, off from 1.18 in July.
“The July Supply/Demand rate stands at 1.52 unemployed for each advertised vacancy, with a total of 2.4 million more unemployed workers than the number of advertised vacancies,” the Conference Board said in a release. “The number of unemployed was approximately 7.0 million in July.”
