BRADENTON, Fla. - Florida-based Holland & Knight has added Michael Millett as an associate attorney working on the firm's public finance team.

Millett represents bond counsel, bank counsel, and disclosure counsel for municipal bond offerings, the firm said.

He is based in Holland & Knight's office in Tampa.

Before joining the firm, Millett was vice president of global finance at Citi with a focus on regulatory banking rules, Securities and Exchange Commission disclosure of derivatives, asset-backed securities, and deposits.

Prior to that, he worked at Goldman Sachs Group Inc., working on mortgaged-backed securitizations.

Millett received a bachelor's degree from Florida Gulf Coast University and a law degree from Stetson University College of Law. He also completed Harvard Business School's Executive Education Program.

Holland & Knight's national public finance team includes more than 20 attorneys with decades of experience in all aspects of public finance and public-private partnerships, according to the firm.

"During the past five years, the team has participated in the financing of more than $13.4 billion in principal amount of debt in connection with virtually every type of governmental issue," Holland & Knight said in a release.

Last year in the Southeast region, H&K ranked ninth as bond counsel working on transactions with $1.6 billion in par volume, according to Thomson Reuters.
