HNTB Innovates for GDOT

The Georgia Department of Transportation again selected HNTB Corp. as the prime consultant for the agency’s Innovative Program Delivery Technical Support Services initiative.

GDOT’s innovative program-delivery office focuses on managing new efforts through public-private partnerships, design-build and other methods to complete feasibility studies and major projects in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Economic Development and Georgia Regional Transportation Authority.

HNTB and other team members, including Jeffrey A. Parker & Associates Inc. and Halcrow Inc., offer management, technical support, and policy and advisory services on alternative-delivery projects. Those include toll and managed lane projects and initiatives such as the Atlanta Multi-Modal Passenger Terminal.

“With the award of this five-year contract, GDOT accelerates implementation of a statewide managed lane system bringing delivering connectivity and mobility to the state,” said HNTB vice president and program manager Tim Heilmeier. “We’re excited to help take the state’s public-private partnership and design-build programs to the next level.”

HNTB has served as GDOT’s P3 technical adviser and program manager since 2004, developing a pipeline of candidate P3 projects.
