WASHINGTON – Hawkins Delafield & Wood LLP is opening a new office in Ann Arbor, Mich., the firm announced Thursday.

The new office will be the firm's ninth and its first in the Midwest region. Hawkins' other offices are in New York, Washington, Newark, N.J., Hartford, Conn., Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, Calif., and Portland, Ore.

A new partner, Lisa Hagan, will be based in the Ann Arbor office. Hagan focuses primarily on health care, higher education and housing financings, Hawkins said in a news release.

Hagan previously was a senior principal in the Ann Arbor office of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. She has bachelor's and law degrees from Michigan State University and a Master of Laws in Taxation from Georgetown University.

"For many years, Hawkins has enjoyed an active public finance practice in the Midwest. The opportunity to welcome a new lawyer to our firm, and to open an office near so many of our valued clients at the same time, is extraordinarily exciting," said Howard Zucker, a member of the Hawkins management committee. "For existing Hawkins clients, this represents yet another example of Hawkins' continued commitment to public finance and public projects."

Hawkins has about 100 attorneys dedicated to public finance and public projects – more than any other firm in the country, it said.
