Moody's Investors Service said it has upgraded the village of Glen Carbon, Ill.'s general obligation rating to Aa2 from Aa3.
The rating affects $4.3 million in outstanding rated debt.
The Aa2 rating reflects the village's stable and moderately sized tax base that serves a population with high socioeconomic indicators.
The rating also reflects the strong growth in fund balance that is expected to provide the village with future financial flexibility, along with a modest debt and pension burden.
