NEW YORK – New York City business activity improved at the fastest pace in nine months, the Institute for Supply Management-New York’s Report on Business current business conditions index indicated.
The current business conditions index climbed to 77.5 in February from 71.2 in January.
A reading above 50.0 indicates expansion.
The report’s six-month outlook index decreased to 77.8 from 90.7. The NY-BCI climbed to 513.4 from 499.7.
The prices paid composite index grew to 68.2 this month from 52.2 last month, the quantity of purchases composite index rose to 64.8 from 52.1, and the supplier delivery time diffusion index climbed to 50.0 from 48.9. Employment increased to 62.5 from 54.3.
