Factory Orders Rise 0.4%; Ex-Transportation Up 2.3%

New factory orders for manufactured goods climbed 0.4% in June, the Commerce Department said yesterday.

The factory orders increase to $349.027 billion contrasted to the 1.0% decrease projected by Thomson Reuters and came after a revised 1.1% increase to $347.616 billion in May, originally reported as a 1.2% rise to $347.850 billion.

Excluding transportation, the level of all new manufacturing orders grew 2.3% to about $312.6 billion in June following a 0.9% climb in May to $305.7 billion, originally reported as a 0.8% climb to $305.5 billion.

Excluding the military sector, new orders rose 1.3% to $336.9 billion, following a 0.9% increase to $332.6 billion last month.
