Eyman Is At It Again

Professional ballot-measure advocate Tim Eyman has landed a measure on Washington’s November general election ballot, the secretary of state’s office announced Wednesday.

Eyman’s Initiative 1033 would limit the revenue growth of state, city, and county governments to a formula based on annual growth in inflation and population, using any excess to reduce property tax levies, according to its official ballot summary. Voter-approved revenue increases would be included.

The measure qualified after election officials conducted a random sample of the submitted signatures, and determined that the submission met the requirement to submit 241,153 valid voters’ signatures, according to a spokesman for the secretary of state’s office.

Over the years, Eyman said he has qualified 12 tax and spending-limit initiatives for the state ballot, of which eight have been approved.
