Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP has named Irene Walsh as managing director and head of its U.S. infrastructure and project finance advisory practice, while also hiring James Ziglar Jr. as a senior vice president.
Based in New York, both Walsh and Ziglar join Deloitte from UBS.
"We believe there is a need in the marketplace for independent advice related to infrastructure finance and public-private partnerships," Bob Coury, national managing director of Deloitte Corporate Finance LLC, said in a statement. "The expansion of our practice solidifies Deloitte's commitment to this sector during a time when infrastructure continues to move up the national agenda."
Walsh worked on private-public partnerships with governments and corporations in her most recent role as an executive director at UBS. She also has experience in infrastructure finance from her more than 25-year career at firms including JPMorgan, EBRD, and KPMG.
She has a bachelor's degree from George Washington University and a master's from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.
"Irene's depth and breadth of experience in infrastructure will be a valuable asset as she brings global solutions to our North American clients," Gianni Ciufo, a partner at Deloitte Canada and North American leader of Deloitte's infrastructure and project finance advisory practice, said in a statement.
Ziglar has 15 years of experience in investment banking and management consulting. Before UBS, he worked for Bain & Co. and Goldman, Sachs & Co. He has a bachelor's degree from Yale University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
