December ISM-NY Current Business Index Slips to 63.8

New York City business activity grew at a slower pace in December, as the current business conditions index fell to 63.8 from 69.5 in November, the Institute for Supply Management-New York's Report on Business index, released Friday, indicated.

A reading above 50.0 indicates expansion. The employment index is published on a seasonally adjusted basis.

The report's six-month outlook index gained to 73.2 from 69.6. The NY-BCI, a cumulative diffusion index, increased to 615.4 from 608.5.

The prices paid composite index climbed to a nine-month high of 60.0 from 59.5, the quantity of purchases composite index remained at 50.0, employment climbed to 55.1 from 50.8, the current month's revenues index declined to 60.0 from 65.8, and the expected level of revenues was unchanged at 63.2.

The ISM-NY said the past six months provided the city with its best growth since 2010.
