DART Hires New CFO

Dallas Area Rapid Transit has named former Irving municipal finance manager David Leininger as its new chief financial officer. Leininger will supervise all financial activities, including budgeting, financial planning, federal funding, accounts payable, and general accounting.

Leininger worked at the city of Irving for five years, first as CFO and later as managing director of development services and economic initiatives. He has more than 30 years of experience serving in management for local and international businesses, including Economics Research Associates, Club Corp International, Triland International, Touche Ross & Co., Las Colinas Association, and the cities of Dallas and Garland.

Leininger has a political science and economics bachelor’s degree from St. Benedict’s College and a masters degree in public affairs from the University of Kansas.

The DART opening was created by a March 2008 reorganization in which former CFO Sharon Leary was named vice president of finance.
