U.S. Bank Corporate Trust Services recently hired former Bank One Corp. veteran Grace Gorka as a vice president and account manager in its Chicago office.
Gorka worked at Bank One for 20 years, including 15 years in its corporate trust department. She left in late February. Gorka was based in the Chicago office and worked as an account executive, she said.
"I joined U.S. Bank because I recognized their commitment to the business and the fact that they have been a consistent leader in the industry," Gorka said in an e-mail.
U.S. Bank ranked second among corporate trustees nationally in 2003, according to Thomson Financial. The firm served as trustee on 833 issues totaling $34.68 billion.
The Bank of New York ranked number one, serving as trustee on 811 issues totaling $53.02.
Gorka is now responsible for overseeing corporate trust relationships and managing account administration for various transactions, including bond trusteeships and escrows. She also is responsible for the development of existing corporate trust relationships.
Gorka received a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois and a master's of business administration from DePaul University in Chicago.
