Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said it raised its long-term rating to AA-minus from A-plus on Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Area School District, Wis.'s general obligation debt.
The outlook is stable.
"The upgrade reflects our view of the district's significantly improved fund balance, primarily due to the receipt of incentive aid from the state upon consolidation," said Standard & Poor's credit analyst Kathryn Clayton.
The step is part of a larger effort to attract financial firms to St. Croix.
