CFO of Port Authority Of N.Y., N.J. Resigns

Barry Weintraub, a 35-year veteran of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey who spent the last 10 years as its chief financial officer, announced Friday that he would retire to pursue other personal and professional interests effective Dec. 1.

During Weintraub's term as chief financial officer, the authority won the "excellence in reporting" award from the Government Finance Officers' Association 10 years in a row and saw its credit ratings raised by both Moody's Investors Service and Standard & Poor's Corp.

Weintraub said the authority expects to name an acting chief financial officer before he leaves, but said that the appointment has yet to be finalized.
