Governor-elect Arnold Schwar-zenegger will be sworn into office Nov. 17 in a simple inaugural ceremony on the steps of the state capitol in Sacramento.
The 11 a.m. Pacific Standard Time event will be without fanfare and without cost to taxpayers since a 501(c)4 organization is picking up the tab. All financial donors to the event will be publicly disclosed, according to the Schwarzenegger transition team.
No galas or balls are planned.
"Governor-elect Schwarzenegger made it very clear to us that he wanted a swearing-in ceremony that is appropriate, given California's budget crisis," said Marty Wilson, executive director of the transition committee, in a press statement.
Seventy-five hundred invitations are being mailed.
