Bond Buyer Indexes Weaken Across Board

The weekly average yield to maturity of the Bond Buyer Municipal Bond Index, which is based on 40 long-term bond prices, was down four basis points this week, at 4.80% for the week ending March. 6. The 40-bond index was the only Bond Buyer index to firm this past week.

The 20-Bond GO Index of 20-year general obligation yields jumped three basis points this week to 4.41%.

The 11-Bond GO Index of higher-grade 20-year GO yields also gained three basis points to 4.12%.

The Bond Buyer's Revenue Bond Index, which measures 30-year revenue bond yields, gained five basis points this week, to 5.27%.

The yield on the U.S. Treasury's 10-year note gained nine basis points to 2.74% after falling 11 basis points the previous week.

The yield on the Treasury's 30-year bond rose nine basis points as well to 3.69%, after dropping seven basis points last week.
